I hate Myself for Loving you...

Last summer, fresh releases from Pink, Kelly Rowland, Nelly, Ludacris, Cypress Hill, Christina Aguilera, Train, Eminem, Stone Temple Pilot, Usher, and Tupac (okay, that last one was wishful thinking on my part...but do you see my affection for the 90's??) provided an influx of songs I embraced without shame.

This summer is different, two songs haunt me, I feel filthy...I must come clean about my love:

I have made lemonade from these embarrassing lemons:
I car dance and sing as my children slouch in their seats...

Postcards From Grandpa

My father travels, a lot, for his job.
I think it would be fair to say he travels extensively.
I'm never quite sure where he is...

Postcards arrived from Germany this week:

Thank you Grandpa! (Sleepyhead KitCat says "Hi!")

The New Yorker (Snarky Saturday)

I am a closet reader of The New Yorker (sssh, don't tell anyone).  My sister, a subscriber to The New Yorker, refers to it as "fabulously pretentious," so true!   I mentally roll my eyes when  an associate/acquaintance references The New Yorker,  "You read The New Yorker, right?" or "I read an article in The New Yorker the other day..."  I find these statements almost as obnoxious as referring to The Wall Street Journal as "The Journal..."  (no offense, dear financial friend who does this,  I don't judge *you* heh heh...)  *cough*cough*

The New Yorker rant aside,  I also mock Hipsters:

(I recently debated in favor of  "Graphic Novels" in schools, in particular Persepolis and Maus. Apparently they, too, are "Hipster Lit"...arg!)

A Day At the Races

My husband took our children to Family Night at Willow Grove Speedway.  The event was a day of fun for the kids - giveaways, games, photo ops!  And, an opportunity for Dad to explain the Laws of Physics as it pertains to race cars (gotta admit, I had no interested in car racing until I learned about the science and engineering that goes into the vehicles, truly fascinating).

(Thanks, Mom, for sharing...)

I fail at anger

I feel ya, Blanch.  I fail at serious anger too. (Actually, pretty much everything I do turns out ridiculous or comical...at least I amuse others...)

Mom, Cover Your Eyes, please

I find this hilarious...(forgive me, I worked 12 hours overnight, on only 4  hours of sleep, I am delirious)...

"My Drunk Kitchen" (Why didn't I think of this?)

Thank you to Natalie for sharing this amusing youtube page...

...yeah, well, at least we don't have prehistoric beasts roaming around...

...my response to an amazing friend living in beautiful coastal South Carolina...

Magic Moment

My Strongman Husband

My husband is an avid bodybuilder.  He has been lifting for 20 years, he began lifting in high school - back when he played football and pole-vaulted.    Last week was his first North American Strongman competition, he placed third in his category.

Etsy Love: Happy Stamps by Tommie77

I am absolutely in love with Happy Stamps by Tommie77 on Etsy.

These are hand carved stamps. While searching for a custom stamp to use on my PocketPets boxes, I giddily browsed this shop!

And the prices are excellent - most stamps range between $4.00 - $10.00,  (customized name stamps average $11.00) a bargain for handcarved stamps!

Aw little Penguin, I can relate...

Yayoki Kasuma

I have an obsession: Yayoki Kasuma

Yayoki is an artist native to Japan.
Her work is delightful and fascinating (and, as one can only imagine, TIME CONSUMING!):

If you aren't familiar with Yayoki, visit her website: http://www.yayoi-kusama.jp/e/information/index.html
